Types of Prayer
Prayer of Salvation
A conversation with God where we
confess our sin and profess faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ
as your Lord and Savior, please allow us the opportunity to introduce
God's plan of salvation to you. It's as easy as
ABC:
A.
Acknowledge - that you are a sinner and ask The Lord Jesus to forgive you
for all of your sins. B.
Believe - that God sent His only begotten Son, born of a virgin, and that
His Son died for the sins of the world and even after being dead the Father
raised
him from the dead.
C.
Confess - Jesus Christ, God's Son, as your Lord and Savior.
If you do this
according to the Word of God you are saved!
Thanksgiving
When we pray we need to
give thanks to God for all things in our life. Being thankful is being
grateful for God's protection, His provision, His blessings, and most
of all for His Son.
Petition
The prayer of petition
is when we ask God for the things we need, or think we need, in our
life. Petitions are usually self oriented ... give us our daily
bread, give us the things we need to survive: a roof over our heads,
employment etc. When we pray a prayer of petition we are presenting
our personal needs to our Heavenly Father, trusting Him to provide.
Intercession
Intercessory
prayer is when we pray for the needs of someone else. It is love on
its knees in prayer, for others.
Prevailing
This type of
prayer is fervent, insistent and consistent until a breakthrough takes
place. This can be a prayer for ourselves, our families, or for
someone else. Example Believing for emotional or physical healing.
Consecration
When we pray a
prayer of consecration, we are committing and dedicating of our life
to God's use. This prayer, we are turning over our own personal will
to that of the Lord.
Agreement
The Biblical principle that governs this type of prayer
underscores the power of unity and harmony among Christians.
Warfare
A prayer of
warfare battles against the spiritual forces of evil. We should pray
for alertness and insight into Satan's tactics in our lives and in the
lives of others.
Prayer of Faith

according to the promises of God in His Word.
